Top 5 Smartphone Apps – July 2012

With the increase in demand of Smartphone the demand of its apps are also growing. This is leading to the launch of many apps week by week, this week the app market was crowded with a lots of Olympics Apps keeping an eye upon the upcoming mega games event in London, the 2012 London Olympics Games. Here we present you the Top 5 apps of this week and you can also check out the Top 5 of last week.

 


1. BBC Olympics App
 
The BBC which is the official news broadcaster of the 2012 London Olympics Games in UK has launched an Olympics App. BBC released this app in two versions for both iOS as well as Android, featuring text, commentaries, latest updates as well as medal moments. There will be separate editions for the UK and the rest countries of the world, the reason is that BBC only has rights to stream content only in UK version that includes streamed videos, where as the international version will only have links to clips on its website. The Android version requires Android 2.2 version or up. The iOS version is compatible with Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is available for free for both versions.

2. XMBC Media Player
 

Zappo TV launched a latest Android App, XMBC Media Player which makes you aware about the latest content from source or series that you have marked as favourite. The XMBC Media Player allows you to play photos, videos and music from your Smartphone or the Internet. It requires Android 2.1 or later. This is available for free on Google Play. 

3. Funimal Pairs Lite
 
Funimal Pairs Lite is an educational app that helps children of 18 months + to learn about letters and their phonic sounds through play. This iPhone App enables childrens to match pairs of animated cards. This app is compatible with iPhone 3Gs, iphone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch (3rd & 4th Generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later. This is available for free on App Store. 

4. Brewster
 
Brewster is a personalized address book app. Brewster, the iPhone App allows you to aggregate contacts from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Gmail, Foursquare and the iPhone itself. It after getting the contacts presents them in thumbnail-image form. This app is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with iOS 4.0 or later. This app is available for free.

5. Twitter for Nokia Series 40
 
Now Nokia Series 40 operating system users can now download and use the new free version of Twitter for Nokia. The new app will provide its users with instant news and updates from friends, industry experts and celebrities. It is available for free on OVI Store.
